HOWDY. WALKED AROUND THE STORES YESTERDAY. WHICH I COUNT AS EXERCISE. TODAY WALKED ON THE TM. WILL TRY TO DO SOME WEIGHT EXERCISES IN A LITTLE WHILE. THANK YOU MARY FOR POSTING THE EXERCISE SITES. SOME OF THEM ARE QUITE GOOD. HOPE THAT SOME OF YOU WILL JOIN ME IN EXERCISING. COLLEEN. I SAW WHERE YOU WERE ON THE NU STEP AT REHAB. THAT MACHINE WAS ALWAYS MY FAVORITE. I ALSO LIKED THE ARM MACHINE. CANT REMEMBER WHAT YOU CALLED IT. DOES ANYONE HAVE A WII? IF SO DO YOU LIKE IT? LYNN

Lynn, my neice who lives in the UK has a WII and does exercises through it..however that works. I'll ask her when she gets back home how she likes it.
I'm like you...I walk malls and big stores, like Sam's Club. I always figure it's moving and that's the point.,

Lynn, I went grocery shopping and I count that as exercising too, lol. I coulda walked more but then I woulda spent more too!
I dont have a Wii but they have one at work and I do the bowling once in awhile on it and I like that. A friend has one with the fitness stuff and she loves it. I guess it keeps track of everything weightloss related on it. I also know that some of the nursing homes around here use them, as even those in a wheelchair can play the games.

I am just popping in to say hi. I just cannot get my breathing right. Dr did put me back on the prednisone. Will see what happens. Was better last night and for a while today but comes back. Not sick but cannot breath good. If I can get this cleared up I will be in here as long as you stick around. In the meantime, you all keep at it. Lynn; when you posted in the Introduction for new Members section, I posted a reply. Did you see it. If not, take a look. You go Wendy and Best of Luck, you can do it.

Lynn - keep exercising and encouraging the rest of us! One small suggestion - could you please post in lower case letters? Using all caps is usually reserved for "shouting" and it is difficult to read. Thanks.

Lynn, I find it very hard to slow down. I say that because you mentioned 'pacing yourself'. Still not up to exercise. Hopefully in a day or to. Just wanted to stop by.

Pacing myself was always a problem for me. I would go till I couldn't go anymore, and then I'd crash. Not a problem anymore Lynn-my shoulder is doing well. It has been 7 months. Not back to 100% yet, but doc said it may never be completely back to normal. I'd say I have about 85% range of motion now and probably about the same % strength. It is still tough to wash my hair and hook my bra, etc. I exercise it daily including weights and a pulley system. It continues to get better - just really slowly.

I did weights and squats and the stepper today, no treadmill. Will do that tomorrow. I can't make myself do it everyday but I did a lot of cleaning including washing the floors and vacuuming today so I am beat. My thigh muscles finally feel like they are coming back and I have put on a few pounds so overall I am feeling better.

Zoom ---- congratulations!!! I would have a hard time finishing a 5k - because of my legs, not my lungs - and I am so proud of you!! I went to Walmart this am and walked around. It's not a Super-Walmart, so is not real big, and is usually crowded so I don't get as good a walk as I'd like. However, it is 96* out -- so Walmart it is

I had planned to start back slow on the TM AGAIN today but didn't work out. I wore myself out too much with other things. Still struggling with SOB but figured I could start slow.
Lynn sounds so nice to get out with the flowers. Way too hot here to do that. Keep up the good work.

Sue,are you ready to go surfing with Betty Boops. lol Everyone is doing well. Wendy, loved your pictures. The pic's make you look like you're really concentrating on getting to the finish line. You have improved greatly in just a few months. Did you walk before the 'walk' to get in shape?

I have not started back up yet but will in the next day or so. My breathing is a little better but don't know after off the prednisone. Still on it.
Lynn, guess without the rain, you could not live in such a BEAUTIFUL place as you do. I still cannot get over where you live.
Lynn has a beautiful garden of her own and beautiful fields of flowers where she lives. I am in total awe of where she lives.

Everyone is doing well at their own level of exercise. I firmly believe we need to keep moving otherwise we start losing it. Wendy, I am so out of shape. I use to walk so much I use to joke my legs were beginning to look like popeyes legs:) The hips start hurting so baaad, that I couldn't even walk across the street much less the 5 miles I was doing everyday. I do remember making 6 miles a goal. Well that went down the tubes.
Keep up the good work. Pat
