Lynn, thanks for thinking of me. The pain mgmt doc concentrated his MRI on my lower back and didn't address the pain on he outer edges of my hips. They say hip pain is located in the groin, so it's not actually my hips that hurt:( My pcp think's it's bursitis. Probably right...But geting a specialist to check that out is next to zero. The pain mgmt doc says the next step for me is a shot or acupuncture... I'll try the shot and if no relief the acupuncture. Last resort will be surgery. I'll BBL as I have rummytiles in a bit. Don't wanna be late. Pat

Pat. What kind of shot do they want to give you. This woman at CHurch has a bunch of nerve damage in her ankle and foot. yesterday they gave her a steriod shot in her ankle. Anyone else heard of this. A year ago next month i got into a study at the U of Seattle called copd and exercise. Every 3 months had to go to seattle and get a pft, dowel test 6 minute walk and do a bunch on the computer. The first time i went i also had to do a stress test. Next month i will go back for the last session and will do all of the above plus another stress test. Don't know if it has really help me or not as i was exercising before. But it was nice to get the pft 6 minute walk etc and see how I was doing. also had to keep a daily log and mail it in once a week. Seemed like when ever i would call with a question like can I fly what about this med or whatever no one at the study would know. Seemed kind of odd. Anyway I am almost done with it. Almost forgot i got on here to post what i had got on here for. ha this week i have done the usual things tm,weight and breathing exercise's,worked out side a couple of days and walked outside a little bit with my husband. What has everyone else did this week? lynn

Pat, nice to hear you are still doing rummy tiles. Had not heard that for a while. Don't wear yourself out with the reunion.
Lynn, Would seem strange that no one knew about COPD. Maybe they were just hired to do the recording or tests. Maybe limited to their own expertise. I signed up for a study once and it was at the office of my Pulmonary Dr. I think the woman handling that was pretty well versed on COPD. This was studying drugs.
I ended up backing out. She put so much time into getting me set up. I felt bad. I had to go off my Spiriva and I couldn't handle it. I am at 20% lung function now and at that time was 24%. The way my lungs are I needed the Spiriva.
I came in here to let you know I am almost back. Few days ago I said I was going to be but other things came up and I got side tracked. Once I start and will be within a few days, I will keep it up, I hope. I got on the TM one day but the next day was not a good day here.
Trying to get things settled down here some. Have a good weekend. I will be back.

Don't wanna be late. Pat Saw an orthopedic surgeon about two months ago for the same problem...Pain in the hip, not the groin. He said it was sciatica because of lower spine arthritis, not the hips. Not much to be done but perhaps a pain specialist if it gets too bad and a steroid injection.

Hi Lynn. I still plan to get in here but seems things keep coming up before I get to the TM. Today I woke up not feeling well. Actually had somewhat of a headache. That is rare with me. I was all plugged up. I have not been sleeping good at all lately.
I can only get to 2 lbs weight. I am back on 1 lb currently. I tried 3 and RT had me to back to the 2 and just do more reps. If the 2 lb don't work for you but you want more, just add a few more reps with the 1 lb.

where is everyone? hope you are feeling better pat and linda ny. that sciatica sure is painful. wendy. hope your infection is better. hard to push yourself when you have one. good for you. i have had a bad exercise week. have had a knot in the top of my right leg for some time. hasn't hurt or bothered me it was just there. Tuesday every step i took i felt it. Wensday i couldn't walk on the tm so somehow i got an appointment with my pcp. he said he wasn't sure what it was and tomorrow i have to go get an ultra sound. supposed to also get the results tomorrow. remember when we used to go to the doc and they would tell you what was wrong with you instead of sending you off for test. good weekend all. lynn

H ya Lynn, Hope that knot isn't anything serious. Please let us know. LOL doctors are only human and don't know everything. Those pesky tests do help them . Thanks for asking. Not a problem. The siatica isn't all that bad, most of the time.

Went and got an ultra sound today and actually did get the report this afternoon. My legs have a whole bunch of knots in them. The doc said they are called lipoma's benign fatty tumors. Nothing can really be done about them because they are to deep. Could be so much worse. I was able to walk on the tm somewhat today for 11 minutes without much pain. Hopefully will get back to where i was before to long. Good weekend to all. lynn

Sorry there isn't something they can do about the pain from the lymphomas, Lynn. Hopefully they aren't too painful. Good luck getting back to where you were, exercise wise.

Hi Lynn, I never heard of that before. Do you get pain often with your legs. Does this affect your walking. Did you take anything for it. From what you said, I assume nothing they can do at all. This is pretty lame, but I did get on the TM today. Only 2 minutes but I HOPE this is the start. Once I get going I should be okay. I didn't realize that I gained all the weight back I lost plus a couple extra pounds. I need to walk and hope this and the diet will help my breathing. If not, then I don't know anything else to do. Eliminate stress. I have other things in order so not as busy, but the days have been sort of busy/hectic. Hope everyone here has a good weekend.

Ok, to date: The 2 minutes Friday was at 1.0.
3 minutes Saturday at 1.0
3 minutes Sunday at 1.0. I did some theraband also.
Once I get going I won't add the other things but now every little bit counts.
I am so very out of shape. I struggle to breath when moving around more than I ever have, when well.

I didn't workout Monday. Today I only did 3 min on TM at 1.0-1.1. This is the hardest I have ever had to do this. By now I should be past 5 min. My breathing is the worse it has ever been without being sick. I get real discouraged when I think I can do something and I cannot finish. I did get a pretty good shower without a lot of breathing problems and that was a plus for today. I stayed real focused on my breathing and stayed relaxed. I will give it another week or so and if not better, will try something different. I am okay just sitting. I cannot just sit.
