I have been walking large stores lately or I dance around my apt to ABBA and such. It's paying off as I have lost 2 more lbs. ;D Wednesday I am starting back to Pulmo Main't class. It'll be Wed and Friday. It'll be good to be back in my exercise class. First of the year, I am re-joining Blue Shield 65 Plus and they are now offering Silver Sneakers, which means I can go to the Y again only for free this time.. Pat

Wow, what a great deal, Pat. You can get a great workout at the Y. Our humidity finally dropped, so today was a great day for rehab. I breezed through it with almost no SOB (stress on the "almost"). Walked 30 minutes at 1.8, did the leg press 6 each at 130, 135 and 140 pounds, and did 3 sets of 5 squats with the 3K medicine ball.

No way did I work out today. I am so tired now but wanted to do some reading before bed. My husband and I were with my new PCP for at least 3 hours, getting acquainted, shots, ekg, bloodwork, etc. Left home about 12 PM and got back little after 3:30 PM and actually started about 12:30 PM.
Most all this time was sitting and yet Joe & I were exhausted when we got home. I never dreamt would be that long. Figured 1 to 2 hours at most.
Pat, that is a good deal. Glad you can do it. Good feeling to lose weight. I am 'slowly' losing if I can keep it up now.
Merry, you are really doing great. I can relate to your TM because I used to do 20 minutes in rehab at 1.8 but few years back.

Today was just a busy day around the house. I changed the sheets on my bed, did 2 loads of laundry and dusted the living room and bedroom. Then ran a few errands. Phew! All that before lunch. After lunch, I took a nap ;D
That was enough activity for one day for me!

Smiley you were busy. Where do you find all that energy? Wow, loan me some please.
I did some housework today myself and some shopping, did not do any tm or anything as I am doing the lungivity walk tomorrow for world copd day. I have to make sure I save everything I have because what I have is not much LOL. Good night.

Way to go, Jackie!! Went to rehab today. Weather is still cooperating, so had a good workout - easy breathing. Did my normal routine. Not increases or changes today.
Arlene - I have to do all my work in one day because on days I go to rehab, I have no energy to do much of anything afterwards. So I really only have Tuesday and Thursday to get stuff done. Otherwise, I wouln't even try to put so much into one day.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Again, I did not work out. The days just get away from me when anything out of ordinary is going on. So much to do piled up again. Tuesday and Thursday when I got to rehab, I am always tired when I come home and I nap. That is not a day to count on doing much.
I sorted thru drugs plans this morning to change my husband's, and then we had a few things today that not normally going on. It just happens. With so many of us in the house, it is harder.
I will figure something out. I have lost a little weight and I want to be walking the TM. You all make me look sick.
Arlene, I think Merry can do so much because she works out so much. She is really doing great at it.

Good job Colleen, now I hope you are feeling better.
Smiley, you have such a good routine that i'm sure rehab would probably make you want to kind lull the rest of the day. You however do amaze me.
Mary, glad to see you at rehab again I know for sure it will help you feel a bit better. With all the stressors you have had in your life lately, I am amazed how you just keep on going.
Jackie has come so far and worked so hard for what she has accomplished. I have so much admiration for her and all she does, she has and does so much for the copd community.
Great going Jackie!!!

I've been on the lazy side all week. At work did the usual housecleaning stuff, at home chased Ashlyn around, bounced her on my feet, and hauled her in and out of the carseat a few times yesterday when I went shopping. I have been doing better at watching my meal portions and have been snacking more on raw veggies instead of chips. Been trying to drink more water also.

Sue - That is one area that I need to improve...I don't eat enough vegies. I fix some type of beans (legumes) regularly, and try to convince myself that they count, but I definitely need more green stuff in my diet. I don't eat lots of junk - just not enough good stuff.
Today was grocery shopping. The snowbirds are making their way back, so the store is busier, making it slow going through the aisles. Takes a lot longer, but I don't feel like I get as good a walk in. I may have to change my strategy....Maybe I'll go to Walmart to shop at midnight - should be quiet then. LOL

I try to hit the stores either very early or late myself Merry to beat the crowds....then my daughter will ask to go after work when it is very busy (I cant win, lol)
I worked last night so did my usual housecleaning stuff.

Hi Ladies, I went to my pulmonary main't class today. I was a little on the sob side today. Figure left over smoke from the fires. I did a short work out but still managed to get 50 minutes of exercise in. Just 10 minutes of this and 10 minutes of that. I walked the TM at 1.4 at 1.0 incline. My old time was 2.0 at 1.0. I'll get back there before too long. Slow go for now. You all do your exercises so well. Pat

Pat - it takes time to work your way up. I had been walking at home for a couple of months before I started rehab, so it's been quite a while for me to get where I am.
And....as to where I am: I upped the treadmill today to 1.9 mph and walked 30 minutes. Did my leg press the same as I've been doing, and did the same on the squats with the medicine ball. Our weather has been perfect and it really makes the workouts easier.

AGAIN, I have had a messed up week. Joe & I talked about it tonight that I HAVE TO get on TM tomorrow. I WILL DO THAT. I don't know how anyone can do an incline. I cannot do it. Pat, you will get back up. Just build slow. I could not do any 2.0. Merry always looking so good. I think of you everyday and how well you work out. I don't think you are living in a house with 6 people and all always have something going on and one is a teenager of 14.. This week my problem was doctors, pills and injections.

I can't exercise today. Going to hard of hearing meeting and a cancer awareness meeting afterwards. I have wanted to go through some thrift shops the last few days but am shying away from them as I'm sure the flu or something worse is floating around those stores. Pat

Mary - you're right about who lives with me. Just Lee (hubby), Petey (the dog), and me - so I don't have too much to interfere with what I want to do. I have to agree with your thoughts on the treadmill incline. My TM won't go below 1.0, but the RT at rehab says to walk on zero. Actually I haven't used mine since I started rehab
