Here we go!! It's Monday, so I went to rehab and did my usual. 30 minutes on the TM, 3 sets on the leg press, and three sets of squats. Linda -- having a treadmill is a huge incentive for me. I haven't used it much since I started rehab, but I know it's there if/when I stop going. And it certainly helped me kick-start my workouts. The only problem is having to look at it parked in the living room because that's the only place it will fit. But, I think it's worth it.

Hi Merry; Good job you did. Yesterday was a day off but I was suppose to TM today. About the time I started thinking about it, things started happening and no TM. I am just now getting back to my stuff. Too many people in my house. If not one person it is another that I am doing something with.
I will have to start earlier or on days like this it will not get done. Should be at rehab tomorrow.Expect to and will report in.
TM is nice to have but very difficult to put in a home unless you really have a hugh home with a workout room.

I walked around walmart for 30 minutes or so and spent off and on bouncing a 25 lb toddler on my foot (I did change off to the other one, lol).

I walked around the grocery store and came home and vacuumed. Also did laundry! Does that count?

Linda -- you betcha!! When I go to the grocery store, I make sure I walk every aisle. You'd be amazed how far that actually is. It's a good walk. I am not able to vacuum unless I am taking prednisone. It is very hard on my breathing, so I get hubby to do it.
I did cleaning today, too. Our guest room gets very little use, and very little attention. So, I cleaned in there today, and even cleaned out the closet (it's where I store all my wrapping supplies and board games and other junk I don't know where to put). Finally threw out my daughter's hoop petticoat from her wedding - almost 18 years ago! Figured if she wanted it, she'd have gotten it by now! Also cleaned one bathroom.

I did get to rehab today and hopefully again on Thursday. I was happy with today's workout. TM was 12 minutes at 1.2 mph I am moving it up. I also did warmups and other stuff but TM is main post. The class today was about many different ways to stretch muscles of various parts of the body. Sue & Linda, walking anywhere is better than not walking at all. Have a good week ladies.

Wednesday: Today was rehab again. Did my stretches at beginning and end, and also 5 minutes on arm bike before and after. Then did 30 minutes on TM at 1.8, 3 sets of 5 squats while holding a 3 kg medicine ball, and 3 sets of 6 on the leg press at 130, 135 and 140 lbs. I have noticed that my bottom is looking lots firmer than it used to! I haven't lost any weight, but I am smaller around the hips and waist. Guess my flab is turning to muscle. Mary - you're doing great. Is it helping with the stress?

Mary - you're doing great. Is it helping with the stress? I made it to rehab again today. I am pleased with my workout. I did the things that I normally do and my: TM was 15 minutes at 1.2It was not easy today. Seemed something in the air affecting the breathing. I did what I wanted. I may have to stay about there for a little bit until I adjust. Didn't work out yesterday but up and down around the house a lot. Merry; I don't notice it helping the stress yet. Maybe as it becomes more normal. I love what you wrote about firming up. It is possible, I guess, with the right exercises. You earned it. I need a smaller waist to start. Great Job you are doing Merry.

Today was not a good breathing day Really high humidity and just miserable. Everyone at rehab was complaining about it. I did my normal routine, but it was very hard. I never did get comfortable on the TM - it was a struggle the entire time. And by the time I folded myself into the leg-press, I had to rest for several minutes to get my air back! Mary - I think the leg-press is what is firming me up. I don't think I walk "hard enough" for that to do it. You are upping your time real well. Stay put for a while until you are comfortable there.

I finally got some exercise today. My daughter took me shopping and all I did was walk around the store several times, not even looking just walking. It is rain and cold here so it probably did me some good! I wish I had all the equipment!

I am being accountable. That is what I like about coming in here. I should have worked out today on the TM. I didn't get to it. Got up this morning early. Couldn't stay awake and went back to sleep until almost noon. Had some family issues at that time, with some company and family. Before I knew it was dinner time. Last chance for me to TM and in came some 'very welcome, unexpected' company. They stayed about an hour and the day, in my records, was over.
Doesn't take much stress to wear me down and I cannot get myself built up to walk. Amazing tonight tho at how relaxed I was after our company left, and my saturation up real good and my pulse rate way down for me. That goes to show I had my mind off the family problems while I was visiting with the 'welcome guests'.
Sorry to bore you but it makes sense to me. I normally won't work out on Sunday. My current plan is to work out Sunday now. If I don't blow a fuse before that.

Mary - the link you posted for the leg press is exactly what I use. You set the weight and press your feet against that black plate till your legs are straight. Then bend your knees till you return to the original position. Getting into position to start sometimes gets me quite SOB, and it takes a few minutes to recover so I can start exercising!
Linda - good job! Walking in the stores is great exercise. Especially when the weather's bad.

Hi Merry and everyone else. Merry, tell me again just what does that build up by using the legpress. I was originally thinking of something different. This looks workable. I think I can fully understand about getting set up first and SOB. That happens to me if I have to maneuver anywhere. Once I am settled I am okay. I DID IT TODAY! It got late and everyone was shopping and Joe doesn't want me on the TM when he is not home. I just made it before dinner. The last two minutes were really tough today. TM 15 minutes (Again) at 1.2.I am happy I did it again. I felt more like this guy, but I stayed on.
