Day to Day Gym is: Happy Monday. Went to rehab this morning. Started and ended with stretches and 5 minutes on the arm bike. In between, I walked 30 minutes at 1.8 mph, did 3 sets of 5 squats while holding 3kg medicine ball, and did 3 sets on the leg press (6 reps @ 120, 125 and 130 lbs). Why are Mondays so hard?

I've been busy working, so housecleaning duties for me! I have been watching what I eat the last few days, (I've been porking out, lol) so that is something anyway. I know if I can dump some of this extra weight, it would help.......but I swear it was easier to stop smoking cold turkey than it is to lose some weight!

Smiley, I missed you yesterday I was in such a hurry I didn't take time for much of anything. I did do the treadmill and some squats. Boy can I tell I haven't done the wide leg squat in a while as I can feel it and it has only been about 10 - 14 days at most lol. They do make a difference in a short while. I love them though and shifting of the hips you feel a lot in hips and bumm.
Sue when you are done, please come on over I would be glad to serve you some tea and crumpets for my house work, even just a little lol.
Come on gymmers let's get up and go. We need to work of the cheese squares.

Cute Story: Today at rehab, I was on the leg press. I increased my weight today, up to 125, 130 and 135 lbs. Well, I was resting before starting my last set. The leg press is in the regular gym part, and one of the employees walked by. I guess she saw my oxygen, and then glanced at how much weight I was planning to press. She tapped me on the shoulder, and said "Um, hon, are you sure you want this set on 135 pounds?" Like I was some decrepit old thing who wasn't too bright LOL. So, I did a couple of presses and said, "yep, that's where I want it!" She laughed, and said "Wow, you're very strong!" and went about her business. It made my day!! I did the rest of my normal workout, too. 30 minutes on the TM at 1.8mph, and 3 sets of 5 squats with the medicine ball. I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow and I have crescent rolls and cream cheese on my list!! I'll have to do extra time on the treadmill next week! ;D

Ok did my routine treadmill and some work on ball. Need to do some squats yet, but will do another treadmill walk first.
Sue crumpet is a sweet bread, kind of similar to a english muffin? You up for cleaning lol.
Good going smiley, you show we lungers can do it.

Today was the grocery store -- walked all the aisles like a good girl. I've been using my 5# dumbell for upper body workout on a pretty regular basis.
Sue -- I'll trade some cheese biscuits with ham for some good floor cleaning!! ;D

I AM BACK, I hope to stay!! Another very slow beginning again. I lost it all.
Merry; Loved your story at rehab yesterday. ;D That can sure keep you working out to hear things like that. That was great! You really have worked yourself up good.
My little beginning was my warmups, with 5 minutes on ergometer, 7 on NuStep and 5 minutes on TM at 1.1-1.2. This was also not a good breathing day for me. Last time I started at less than this. I should be able to get up quicker this time.
I will walk tomorrow on TM at home. I could feel the workout when I got up from my nap. Oh, and it was harmonica day and we played for an hour.

Good for you Mary. You are determined not to give up, and I admire you for that! Doesn't all that harmonica blowing make you dizzy?
I went to rehab today and did my usual routine. You all know it by now as well as I do. ;D I have to go to Walmart tomorrow morning, so I'll get in a good walk then, too.
Sue - that should be a good incentive for you!

I didn't post yesterday but then I also did not work out as I planned. I was fairly sore from day before and decided to wait. The day was busy anyway. I always do warmups before TM. I will just post my TM that I do. When I go to rehab on Tuesday and Thursday I will always do at least 2 other exercises besides the TM. On rare occasion 3. It would be erogometer, weights, nustep (almost always), cycle (rarely) or some other new machine that is challenging. Today I did the TM for 10 minutes (5 more than Thurs) at 1.1 to 1.2 (same speed but mine at home has automatic incline). I am pleased as it was smooth enough walking. My day today was so so and ended on a big BLAH. I expect to walk the TM tomorrow and try to rid some of my anger that I have few ways to rid. Trying to keep too many people happy.

Mary - the only person you can please for sure is yourself!! Keep up the good work. I find rehab is a great outlet for me. It is so nice to see people who want nothing from me except that I do my best. We talk and laugh and just relax. Plus, of course, work out. It really improves my state of mind. Even if you don't feel like going, once you get there you'll enjoy yourself.

Merry, I have never gone to rehab. My pulm. said that I should a couple of years ago but there was a waiting list. Now that Medicare pays for it, I wonder if there will be more places popping up! During the winter months I don't go out much so I need the exercise! I was suppose to get an Oliptical (spelling isn't right but close enough) from a friend of my daughter's, but that hasn't happened yet! I envy you girls with treadmills!
