Just a couple of silly things that have been a big help to me:
1) When I'm having trouble breathing, it can help a lot to have my DH just gently rub my back. I think it's just relaxing the muscles that helps, but it sure does help me. I even had him doing it for me last time I was in the ER. (Nobody made him stop.)
2) For us ladies: I find wearing a bra to be really uncomfortable for my breathing. I have made some tube tops from terry cloth. They are not tight fitting, just loosely fitting, down to my hips. If I'm going out somewhere, I throw a blouse on top. It sure makes for more comfortable breathing. Of course, sometimes you gotta wear a bra to feel comfortable in other ways.

Not silly at all, Dan rubs my back quite often and it feels great. Wish I could get a massage everyday!! Good idea with tank tops, I have bought a few and wear them under big shirts, much more comfortable.

I bought some "wife beaters" as my kids call them ( guys sleeveless under shirts) to wear instead of a bra when possible. They come in alot of different colors.

Sue that is what I do must of the time. I did find a warner bra that is super soft with no tags. One cup I can almost fill up but the other one fills it up alright. I do wear those if people are coming over but not if I'm at home. I go with the tee shirt and shirt over it. Comfort to me is important the older I get. I live in jeans and jogging pants and sweatshirts. It works for me!
