I don't know if anyone ever addressed this before, but in regard to the albuterol canisters not passing the float test to see if they're empty -- that's only partially true. If you are buying the brand name (Ventolin or Ventorlin) it is indeed true, it will sink even when empty. I personally believe that a bit of weight was added to the canister to insure it will sink to lead us to buying new ones if not sure.
But at the same time, Cipla's version at All-Day Chemists in India (Asthalin) does indeed still pass the float test as always. I believe there is a bit of ugly greed poking its head in there to keep us from getting all that the canister holds. The one that I buy is, of course, a no-brainer!-- Vic
