Hello I'm 44 this month and on the 2nd of July I had spirometry and reversibility test and was diagnosed with copd, so I'm very new to this, I've had to get one of those "granny" shopping trolleys to help walking with the breathlessness, I'm keeping positive and upbeat though! thankyou for the warm welcome I wish you a good day!

Welcome Vega, stay positive and fight. Knowledge is your best weapon and stress is your worst enemy. I was DX'd end stage in 2002. I was on 02, 24/7 and in a power chair to conserve energy. In 2003 I was evaluated for transplant and was not a good candidate. Today by the hand of God I am walking without 02 except above 5000' and able to do many things I couldn't before. My numbers have improved remarkably and DR's are bewildered. I share all this to let you know, "THIS IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE". Ir will require life style changes and if you take an active part in your health and care you can improve. You will find that a every small health issue can knock you down and make it harder to recover. Please stop in to daily chat and share what info you get from your doctors and your life experience, ask any question you want. We help each other through life's major stress and we have a great prayer section also. This is a personal, family style group that truly care for one another.

Hey Vegan! Like Ken said this is not a death sentence. Try and eat right, exercise .. I walk... etc and it can be doable. I was d'x 10 yrs ago. I work 3rd shift full time, try and keep up with grandkids, periodically tent camp. My lung capacity was 52℅ but I think it's a bit less now. I don't let copd slow me down if I can help it.
