Got my 90 min walk in today. My calves hurt from slogging thru that d**n snow we got overnight.
Merry, my determination is watching my muffin top disappear, lol. And being able to breathe better. It's amazing to think a year ago I was only able to walk 15-20 min at a time!

Sue - I've gained quite a bit of weight that I'd love to lose - just under 30 pounds since my transplant. It's been gradual...taken me 5 years to gain it, so I doubt it's going to come off very quickly I think the meds have a lot to do with it, because my eating really hasn't changed that much. Actually, I eat less high fat foods than I used to.

I need to go back to eating healthier and eating off a salad plate. I didnt lose much weight, just belly fat. So bi dont weigh myself too often.. just go by how my clothes fit me.

That's the smart way to do it, Sue. I know a lot of my weight gain is actually muscle, since I am lots stronger than I was pre-tx. But, I know my belly isn't muscle! LOL I'd be happy to lose 15-20 pounds...I'd like to drop one size. That would make me happy.

Walked 60 min yesterday. This not being able to walk daily is taking a toll on me. Barely made the60 min. I feel out of shape

It's amazing how quickly you feel the difference if you miss a few days. Lee had a dr. appt this morning, and I have one Wednesday, so I'll miss 2 classes this week. I know I'll really feel it Friday when I finally get to go.

I believe some of this belly issue is post menopausal from what I am reading.
I think you ladies are doing great on the exercise. I do the treadmill and summer is mostly bike, but can't wait to exercise more rigorously in the future!!!!

Aero i didnt have weight issues til i turned 40. Then my metabulism changed. Fo yeah i agree menopause contributes to it, at least in my case.

My weight never went up until after transplant--and I was 9 years post-menopause then. I think I had to work so hard at breathing that I burned up a lot of calories just getting through the day. Now it's lots easier to breath, but I am no way near as active as I should be...living out where we are, I don't have access to much to keep me busy. Unless I want to drive 25+ miles. It's difficult.

since i have only been able to get out and walk about once a week due to the crap for weather i have, a friend burnt me some exercise dvd's... hip hop abs with shaun t and another set with some gal. anyway, i only last about 10 min, lol. but better than nothing i guess

Good for you, Sue. I keep saying I'm gonna try some yoga, but I never get around to it. I got back to the pool today. Felt really good. I miss it when I'm away from it. I miss seeing all the girls (and guys), too.
