Hello everyone! It certainly has been a loooong time since I last visited here, hasn't it? Well, that's a long story. I just got a new story to add to my LVRS and while I was there, I checked my links and found the one I had for this board no longer worked. So, followed the suggested url, found it's still active, and posted the new link in my blog. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that I can post direct links on here to take you to my blog. Oh well. It's been 5 years since my surgery and during that time, Bob and I have traveled around the country in the RV. We have seen some beautiful scenery, met some fantastic people and talked to some about copd. It's been a wonderful journey. I'm also into geocaching www.geocaching.com which has taken me to places I wouldn't have seen otherwise. Right now, we're in Mobile Alabama where the sun is finally peeking out after 5 days of torrential downpours interspersed with gray skies. We're on our way to Houston...very slowly. So, here's the link for my LVRS blog if anyone is interested in it. The newest entry is "TTT - Kenny's LVRS". www.copdandlvrs.blogspot.comKeep that blood going around and around and that air going in and out. Colleen, it's time you moved out of the cold, cold Poconos and tried Kentucky or NC...both beautiful, WARMER states!

Where in NC are you going to settle, Colleen? When I have to quit traveling, NC is high on my list for a "settle state". Not as hot as SC but oh, so beautiful. Charleston SC area is really nice but oh, so humid!

Your welcome to come stay w/us to check it out~ we hope to be down there and moved in by the end of the summer. Dan is building the house and its slow going but it will be worth it in the end. Also I will be transferring all my records to Duke and looking forward to meeting the transplant team there. We drove over there once about 2 years ago while we were deciding where to move to. My girlfriend lives in Raleigh so she took us around the area. Will definitely miss U of Penn but can't commute that far....lol~

Colleen, Duke has the BEST pulmo rehab and general exercise programs going. And the indoor pool. And the indoor track. Check out their Center for Living. Looks like you're going to be too far, though, to take advantage of all that neat stuff. <sigh>
If anyone here would like to be on my notification list for the travel journal, just send me an email at pitapony at yahoo dot com.

I read that about Duke Penny but I will be 2 hrs away so will not be doing their rehab. We will have a great place to walk, lots of room and plenty of miles to be covered so not going to worry about it. Been doing really good except the weight gain from the pred but I will be on it for the rest of my life so I may as well get used to it.....lol

Colleen - one thing you want to watch out for...when you get your golf cart, make sure you still do plenty of walking...Hubby drives his everywhere, and can't figure out why he gets tired when he does walk It's so convenient to take the cart down to the mailbox or over to the neighbor's.
