I'm proud of you, Sue. You are really staying with it!
I'm still hitting the pool 3 times a week. I think in another week or so I'll be able to start walking on a regular basis.

your doing great Sue. I have started again with just some simple warms ups and leg exercises. I have 2 dvd's with walking and that zumba stuff, I want to start the walking one and I can't find it so really have to look. I can't jump right into the zumba, it'll kill me~~

Colleen - do you have a gym that's fairly convenient to you? I find I do much better in a group setting...it makes me more accountable. My gym has Silver Sneakers fitness classes -- they are an approved exercise routine with certified instructors, geared for seniors. I am not a senior, but find the classes are good for me. They stress low-impact cardio (marching), weight training, and balance training. I wish I could go more often, but the cost of gas prevents that. Three times a week is about my limit, and I usually opt for the pool when I go. I know I need to do stuff that's better for my bones. I need to figure out a plan...

I have a Leslie Sansone walking DVD and did her mile walk last night and again this morning, my legs are sore! There are 3 walks on it and my goal is to be able to do all 3 of them with the weights, not so much to loose weight, although that would be great~ just to get in better shape is my main goal!

Colleen - I did Leslie Sansone videos for a long time before my breathing got too bad. They're alot of fun and good for your fitness. (and they burn alot of calories )

Is that the one where one walk is like a mile another with weights and the 3rd you do different steps? If so they have that one at work and holy cow does it wear me out! I'll stick to my walking outside lol... Did my 3 miles today.

Sue, I have not watched the whole video yet, the 1 mile you use weight balls half way through so it can be a challenge if your really out of shape....lol but its really not too bad....I plan on "watching" the other 2 soon just to see what they are, will let you know, not ready for them yet....the video is called "Walk Away The Pounds with Leslie SanSone" 3 workouts in 1 DVD

She has a whole variety of videos -- there must be 25 of them. Her real early ones are hysterical--she has a real loud voice and a Brooklyn accent! Obviously, she's had some work with a voice coach ;D The workouts start with 20 minutes and go up to as much as 5 miles. They all use the same basic steps - marching and kicking and sidesteps. I like them because there's no choreography to memorize. It's all very basic. And not all of them use weights, either.
