Merry you had wanted something different for Thanksgiving, this is my favorite. Sweet Dressing Recipe 1 pound loaf whole grain bread (toasted then cut into squares or tear into pieces) 1 large apple (core, slice and cut into small pieces) 1 cup pitted prunes (cut into pieces) 1 cup onion (diced) 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 2 tsp sage 1 tsp cinnamon ½ cup sugar or splenda 1 can chicken broth (fat free) 1 cup warm water ¼ cup margarine (melted) Directions; In a large mixing bowl, combine bread, apple, prunes, and onions. Sprinkle salt, pepper, sage, cinnamon and sugar over bread. Mix with large spoon to combine. In another bowl, pour chicken broth, water and melted margarine. Then pour mixture over bread mixture to moisten and stir. Place stuffing in neck pouch of turkey and inside cavity. Excess dressing can be wrapped in tinfoil or a baking dish to bake. The excess dressing needs only to bake for approximately an hour. Optional; the giblets can be cooked in chicken broth mixture, diced and added to dressing if desired. This recipe has a slightly sweet taste but also the sage flavoring. This is an old German recipe from my husband’s Grandmother.

This sound delicious! Very different, and yet familiar My recipe is almost the same except for the sugar, cinnamon and the prunes....never would have thought of adding those ingredients. I will try this ----thanks Joy! (just guessing it was Joy instead of Ken who posted this)....
