Hi Wendy; I am not really ready to start but since you have come into the exercise area, I guess I can do this. (see me dragging in ;D). I am not sure though if I will be in tomorrow. Might have to start Saturday. I have been so busy and not caring for me. This wave is to you Wendy. I have to do this now that I have committed once AGAIN! Hi Pat and Aero.

Hi Wendy and Mary (and Pat and Aero, too ) I am still being faithful to my water aerobics class. I've stuck with this longer than any other exercise program I've done, and I'm very proud of myself. I go every Monday and Friday for an hour. I try to go on Wednesday, also, but seem to have alot of doctor appts/test on Wednesday morning. I've been doing the water aerobics for 18 months now. I was swimming laps after class, but hurt my shoulder a couple of months ago--haven't been able to actually swim because I can't rotate my left arm all the way around. I think it's my rotator cuff, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to have surgery on it. I walk every day with the dog (hate it in the cold weather like we're having now ). I walk him 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each time -- close to a mile total each day. My routine doesn't change. It's always the same, so I don't post regularly. you'd all get very tired of reading it.

you know Merry, think we all do the same thing but maybe just knowing someone else is doing the same-same everyday may encourage someone else?
wish I could do water stuff, love water in any shape or form
temps were in the teens today so didn't even step out've the house....walked on TM a bit and then cleaned up some so we could put up the Christmas tree this evening with the kiddos

Wendy - I love my water aerobics. Just about anyone can do it. We have people in good shape (like me ;D ), people who are morbidly obese, some on walkers, one blind man, and everything in between. We have a lady who's 89 years old, down to people in their twenties. Everyone works at their own level, so it's not too strenuous for anyone. We do weight training, kicking, jogging, calisthenics, a huge variety. And it's fun! If you have the right teacher, it's a hoot!
Most YMCAs offer classes. Mine is at the local gym. Maybe you could do it if you tried??

Morning
I am having to build myself back up in the exercise area. Was doing great and throwing some extra new routines in.
Starting with the exercise bike and stretching routines. I am up to twenty five minutes on the bike.
I would love to go to water aerobics with someone. I hate exercising outside of the house by myslf.
They used to have it at the high school pool but they drop the adult classes down to very little over the last couple of years.
Oh, chasing the kiddos works wonders.

I went to the Harvest Festival with my friends. We walked ALOT:) Felt like I got my exercise in. It was windy outside, so had some sob until we got inside the bldg. I felt good and although I have a clumsy walk, I did ok. I had to get help getting into and out of the shuttle wagon:) My legs are really weak:( I really need this surgery and with the help froom God, It'll be successful in that area..

LMAO!!!! Merry love the goose!!!!!!
kinda had another day like yesterday but won't say I ran around like a goose again, at least not for a while.....
the littlest pee'd in her "panties" during her nap and I had to change her, clean her, then take everything off her bed to be washed....that surely did me in for the day......had already been on TM for about 15 min....
Keep on keeping on everyone

Aero - the important thing is that you are moving! You do great on the bike -- I've never been able to get into riding one. Most that I have found are very uncomfortable--except at the gym. And those are really expensive. Might be worth it though. Running after kids is also great for you...Maybe I should rent a few...

Aero I know how hard it can be to start when you've stopped for a little bit....happens to me everytime I get ickies again, which is often....... walked around two grocery stores today, and the dollar store..think I'm gonna count that as all today.... keep up the good work gals )

You know Wendy, walking the grocery stores is good I think. You're bending over to read a label and getting back up and it keeps up the whole time your there. I go to Von's frequently as I'm not familiar with the store, so I have to do extra walking to find some item them I give up and ask a sstore employee where it is:) Then we cart groceries to the car, unload them and drive home and go get cart to bring them in and then put them all away. Phew...haha

This weekend I was in and out of the house and car all day. Saturday I: went to stores, came home baked cookies, went out to stores, came home and then went to dinner.
Sunday I went to three drugstores and Burlington Coat Factory and Kmart and walked around them picking up stuff. When I got home I made cookie dough.
Tried bike but was in and out too much to count for much. But was very busy.

Holy Moly, my mom and I took our dogs to the doggy park today, speaking of exercise!!!!! Yikes! my big guy thinks he has to bark at all the dogs and then run back to me....he scares the owners so I try to not let him get too far ahead of me......he just wants to let them all know that he's here!!!! LOL

I've been hitting the stores pretty heavy this week, so have been getting in plenty of walking. Plus the pool and the dog. So, you'd think I'd lose a pound or two...NOT! But, at least I haven't gained any. ;D I was watching Dr. Oz the other day, and he was talking about walking. Recommends 10,000 steps a day, using a pedometer. I had heard that before, and wondered just how far it was - they don't tell you that part. So, I did a little research. It's 5 MILES! Yikes!!! That is a huge amount of walking in the course of a day -- and then to do it every day? I don't think so...

Good for you Doris! you can't beat pulmonary rehab for a good exercise program. Does your doctor do spirometry in the office? That can give you a pretty good idea of where you stand - or at least if things are getting worse.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Merry 5 miles a day? I don't think I could do that . I had bought a pedometer before and I don't think it was working right.
I have been using the Kinect for a sports game. I can switch hands for the tennis and the skiing has me crouching so that can be felt in muscles. I figure it is good enough exercise when you just dont feel like you can get into the treadmill or bike. Plus, my grandson has fun too!

Are any of us making resolutions for the New Year as far as exercise? I had hoped to get a balance board for Christmas, but hubby couldn't find one. I've seen them online, so will either order one or go to the "big city" and find one. They are supposed to be excellent for firming and strengthening your core. My mid-section really needs work. I'm watching Dr. Oz. He has a guest on named Tony Horton who does a 10-minute per day workout to make you really "ripped". I wish! Of course, I still need to do the cardio stuff for my lungs and heart. I think this Horton guy's workout is very tough, though. I always have great intentions, but I don't follow through. The pool has been closed since Christmas Eve, and I really miss it. But....it has actually been nice to just hang out at home and not have to go anywhere.
