I had pulmo rehab this morning. It really felt good. I'm still on a restricted schedule. But am building my strength up. I'm going tomorrow to the Y and sign up again for Silver Sneakers.

I signed up for Silver Sneakers at the Y today. Because I had skimpy flats on the mgr only let me walk at 1.1 and level 1.0. I was creeking along, but got 20 mins in and 5 mins on recumbent type bike I didn't over do, as I haven't exercised like that in a loooong time

I went to the Y Tuesday and walked 20 minutes on the treadmill. Then Wednesday main't class, then Thursday rummytiles. Friday was main't class again. I am thinking the Y today. It's rainy outside but clouds are breaking up, so maybe I can get there anyway.

Pat - I am so proud of you for keeping up with this. We all know we feel better when we exercise. I quit posting because I do the same thing all the time. It got boring to write it, and I'm sure, to read it. But, here we go. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I go to the gym. I do 3 sets of 6 on the leg press at 160 pounds. Then I head to the pool for a 1 hour water aerobics class. After class, I stay and swim laps (usually 8-10 laps). In addition to that, I walk every day with the dog. Distance depends on the weather and the dog's inclinations but usually about 1/2 to 3/4 mile. In the evening, while I watch TV, I do stretching exercises to keep me limber. And that's it -- it never changes, so....

OK, guess I'll join in - hopefully I'll keep it up. I now have a physical therapist come on Tuesdays and Fridays, with "homework" the rest of the week. He has given me the rubber band thingy to exercise my arms and legs. I'm doing 15 reps now, along with some walking around the house, and some blance exercises he has given me. Nothing a normal person would get excited about, but it's a workout for me. Hopefully it will start making some difference. I need some muscles so I can go fishing!!!

Toni - balance exercises are very important as we age. We tend to let those muscles go, and it's hard to get it back. Good for you for doing them. Theraband gives you a good muscle-building workout, too. Catch some fish for me!
