Howdy. Sounds like you had a good walk today Pat. Does your hip give you problems when you walk like that? I didn't get much exercise done this weekend. I did walk on the tm Friday and did my breathing and weight exercises and went out in the flowers and weeded somewhat and pulled on a vine and that was it. I felt my sciatica get started. so i mainly sat on the heating pad and felt sorry for myself. lol have an appointment in the morning at pt. So hopefully that will help. lynn

lynn, I walk whether my hips hurt or not. If my bursitis (I guess that's what it is) is acting up, I don't go anywhere that I don't have to go. The pain from that is excruciating. Then I have days where my hips are fine and that's when I take advantage of the good days: ) Hope that made sense??? I am going to have shots in both hips and my back. I'll be in twilight sleep so I won't feel the pain. Well so they say:(
Be careful with the sciatic pain. I have that pain alot. It can sure stop you short...
I don't know if I'll walk today or not. Gotta do some deep thinking about this...lol Pat

Hi Troops...I'm keeping up the water aerobics and leg press, but I backed off the intensity to give my knee a break. It is much better today, so it must be working. Hopefully a few more days and I'll be mended. ;D Just got back from walking the dog - second time today, and we went about 1/4 mile each time.

Have not been able to walk this week except for Monday i walked 10 minutes on the treadmill. I went to pt Tuesday because of the back problems I am having. The pt told me that my hip and pelvis might be out of alinement, she did several exercises and I did feel somewhat better. Yesterday morning my back hurt so bad i almost couldn't get out of bed and walking was very hard. I couldn't seem to get any relief at all. Finally called my pcp and he said to take a muscle relaxer along with a pain pill. After awhile the pain eased up somewhat. I also used an ice pack for about 20 minutes at a time. This morning i feel somewhat better. But won't push my luck yet on the tm. Hope that everyone is doing ok. lynn

I walked the mall today. I went to get a gift cert for my youngest granddaughter at the Justice store and by time I got thee everyone and their dog was waiting in line, so I figured I'd go another day and go right to that store instead of lollygagging the time away.
While at the mall I treated myself to a cinnabun. Oh my...It's been over two years since I had one. It was awesome...
Then I headed out and got way laid at JC Penny's and I spent time looking for a pair of crop pans to go along with a blouse I plan to wear to the picnic. Well no Justice store yet:)
Then I stopped at Easy Spirit shoes and almost bought a cute pair of tennies that looked like tenny sandals. I had to wait in line and it was just enough time for me to decide I didn't need to spend money on shoes right now. No justice store yet:)
I just happned to go into Pink Girl II think that's what it's called). and was just bidig my time, then I thought...mabe it's time to find Justice store:)
So off I went and the rest is history....Pat

Well, Pat - you got in a good walk on your way to the Justice Store (what ever that is ) I haven't done anything new or different. Walk the dog at least twice a day - 1/4 to 1/2 mile each time - do my water aerobics and leg press, and go grocery shopping/run errands. That's about it. But I am seeing a big difference in my muscle tone, so something is working.

Happy Monday! We had a substitute teacher this morning for water aerobics. She about killed us! A much more intense workout than usual. I hated it at the time, but when it was over, I felt great. It was surprisingly good. However, my triceps and my thighs are already hurting. She'll be teaching us the rest of the week, so I'll be suffering....

I pedaled the stationary bike for 1/2 hour. According to the gauges, I pedaled 5.1 miles. And the best part is my legs nor my hips didn't hurt afterwards or today so far. This was at my pt session.

Good to see everyone. Isn't that amazing Pat how far it shows the bike will go in just a half an hours time. Walked on the tm 22 minutes this morning and did my pt exercises. My back is feeling much better. I go to pt tomorrow and if I have anything to do with it that will be the last time. Even though I have insurance it is still pretty expensive to go. Good week to everyone stopping in. Lynn

Went to my last pt session today. All that went on was them watching me do exercises. I decided I could do those at home just as well. Was glad I wasn't going back when I got home and saw the bill in the mail was 134.00 and that was after insurance paid. Good Night. that was for 1 hour. lynn

I had to have PT a few years ago for a frozen shoulder -- I had 15 sessions. Each was $34.00 after insurance ....$500.00!! I about died! I sould have just gone ahead and had the surgery - it would have cost me less. I bumped the leg press up to 130# today, and it was very comfortable. May go another notch higher on Friday. Water aerobics was a good, fun class. So far, I haven't gotten bored with it. Still enjoyable, and nice co-exercisers to talk with. The heat seems to have backed off just a bit - 1 or 2 degrees. Makes it a little more comfy to walk the dog. Took 2 walks yesterday (1/2 mile each) and 1 so far today. Will go again after supper if it doesn't rain. I'm going to open a new thread for the rest of the month -- this is getting a little long.
