It's Monday, so I headed to the gym. I made myself get on the stair stepper first thing. Climbed 7 floors on medium intensity. It took me 56 seconds. Not bad, but I bet my legs will be sore tomorrow I then did my regular routine: Treadmill for 30 minutes at 2.7 mph, 3 leg machines and 4 upper body machines. Depending on the machine, the weights were set at between 40 and 60 pounds except the leg press - 140 pounds. Did 3 sets of 6 on the leg machines and 2 sets of 10 on the arm machines (don't ask me why, 'cause I haven't a clue! ) I hope I see more of you this week. Mary and I are getting sort of lonesome

Merry, Merry, you are calling everyone out to join us. Us is not here again. ;D
Seems I pulled a groin muscle or such. Anyway, my cycleing really got it to hurting. My resting a couple days pretty well confirmed it. We think I may have done it with all my up and down and lifting in my room. Then when I started on the Cycle it just aggravated it. I was using IBuprofen and at least I didn't use any today and now feeling okay.
Contrary to what I have been doing, I am going to try to do the TM tomorrow and not do the bike yet. It pulls on that area and I knew I could get it hurting again. This is where the rehab people come in handy.
If no one else comes in here, I don't want you to have to post here just because of me. I am motivated enough just by my breathing. We could stop for a while or we could post once or twice a week. Anything is fine with me. Whatever you want to do. I lost 10 pounds and I don't want it back. That is a huge incentive too.
Great work out for you.

I won't be working out tomorrow, since I have to go to Gainesville for checkup. I'll see what I feel like doing as far as posting. We've kept this going for a long time - It was last August (just a year) that I first got started after my evaluation for Tx. We've come a long way, but we've lost quite a few who were loyal for a while.
I sort of like posting - keeps me on my toes.

I went to the gym Thursday to make up for missing Wednesday. Went again this morning, but the place was closed. No note on the door or anything, so don't know if he just went for breakfast, or was out sick. oh well. So, I still only got in 2 days this week

Hi Merry, Sorry you had to go in for nothing. Must have been important to just close the doors.
We emptied my room and it finally got a bath. Cleaned the carpets and everything in the room. Even aired out the bed. TM is in the same room. I did some posting on CI about my TM and going to try putting a 2x4 under it to even out the incline. I am anxious to try it but just did it tonight, and not up to walking. It is storming.
I will be back. See you Monday maybe. Take the weekend off. Your checkup sounded great. Way to go. You are very blessed, and I am very happy for you.

That's one of the advantages of small-town living. People understand when you have stuff to do. They just assume you'll be back later - or maybe tomorrow! Since there is only one employee at the gym, sometimes he just has to be away. As they say, "Sh#t happens!"
Worked out this morning. 30 minutes on the TM at 2.7 with 1.0% elevation. Did 3 sets of 10 at 140 pounds on the leg press, and did all the other arm machines (3 sets of 10 at 50 pounds) and leg machines (ditto at 60 pounds).

I have not felt well the last few days. Breathing okay but sleeping a lot. Sinus again. Probably our weather or some after affects from cleaning my room.
Be on TM soon. I am anxious to do it. I did not look at anything yesterday online. That is so rare for me, unless I am really down in bed. I just had to sleep.
You are doing just awesome with your workouts. I wish we had lived in a small town. At one time I didn't want to. Later saw advantages of it.
Take care,

I started up YET AGAIN. New touch though. We have boards under my TM to even out the incline. BTW, I have learned something that I never knew. A 2 x 4 is 1 1/2 by 3 1/2. Could have fooled me. We took care of the 1.5 incline with 2x4. Just walked today and was MUCH easier. Still not easy but much better. I could have walked more but thought I better go slow TM 10 minutes at 1.1

Gosh, I thought I posted in here last night. hmmmm? Oh Well. Yesterday I did the TM again. With my warmups and also weights I am trying to do just a wee bit more each time. I am not posting all of it. Not on the cycle yet. I can feel the workout on the TM and think I will wait a bit to do the cycle. Have not done anything yet for today. Not sure yet what my plan is for today. Not in the most best place today but will see. TM 12 minutes @ 1.1

Well -- there is always a fly in the ointment ---- isn't there? BTW I worked out as usual Monday and Wednesday. Now for the fly ---- good old small town living at its best... My gym is now closed. They just didn't have enough members to keep the doors open. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Once we get our new house, I'll have my treadmill, etc., but until then, I'm stuck. Guess I'll have to drive 15 miles to the nearest one. CURSES!!!

Merryfl, you have lots of energy and i have none. What to do? I'm in Fl too, but central, and I haven't exercised in years. i'm 75 and male and live alone, so I don't get much encouragement, although a lady from the dog park and I found a copd support group here (are you ready, after living here 8 years I find the group 1/2 mile down the road?) - and we're going to attend the next general meeting. I'm using oxygen most of the time, keep my oximeter handy and amazed at how little I can do without the portable. I'd like to change that. The last six months have been terrible - up until then I was doing rather well. Oy. I can only blame me, so I don't really complain, just try to keep track. Your posts are great - feels like a neighbor. Thanks. thom
