Here we go!! It's Monday, so let's work off that weekend!! I've been to the gym this morning. Did my 30 minute walk at 2.3, Nautilus machines (6 different ones) plus the stair stepper -- Today I climbed 5 floors on difficulty level 5 out of 10. Took me 42 seconds. I finally convinced the mgr that he needed to pull the A/C down - it was too hot in there! It was much more comfortable today. Anybody else?

Your doing great Merry. I just went to the grocery store and did some washing of the floors. I have rehab tomorrow so will be going there. I wish I could buy a nustep for home, I love that machine.

I've never had access to a Nustep. It looks like it would be very comfortable to work on. I'm using just an old-fashioned stair climber. I'm trying to get the same benefit as I got from the leg press since my gym doesn't have the kind I was using (seated and pushing away from you). The only one they have is a free weight system. You lie on your back and push the weight up toward the ceiling. If your knees don't hold, that weight can come crashing down on you (so you have to have a spotter). It scares me, so I stopped using it. I hope the stair climber will be an adequate substitute.

My exercise was books again. Lots of lifting and up and down. Planned to do some TM but ended up on the phone most the morning. By then it was too late. After the books, I have nothing else left. Will try tomorrow early. Rare that I am on the phone. Colleen, I like the Nustep too. I always felt that was the easiest to do as it never bothered me. Wellllll, since last year and having gotten totally out of shape, I went to rehab and could not hardly last 5 minutes on it. I can now but I found out it does work. You get arms and legs working out on it. Merry, I am tired just watching that girl. What is the point of what she is doing. What does that do. You should write a book Merry. You are intelligent and been thru all this and should have great experiences to share. I am out of here until I hope tomorrow.

Had a great day at rehab! Did 10 min on the nustep, made it 5 mins before I had to stop which for me is great. Did 6 mins on the bike and 6 mins on the arm ergometer.
Merry, the nustep is very comfortable and its all adjustable so you can make the seat and arm handles move to your height.
Mary, hope you had a good day also.
Adina, how are you doing? You've been quiet here lately!

Mary -- I'm not sure just want her purpose in life is ;D But, she's working real hard at it, isn't she? I don't think I have the patience to write a book! I get started on projects and then get bored with them and stop half-way through. I think I told you all about the sweater I found when we moved (it was a half-finished beautiful crocheted piece). I still haven't taken it back out to finish. Of course, like most people who love to read, I've always dreamed of writing a best-seller. Maybe one day.

Well, now... tsk, tsk, tsk .... is no one exercising today? naughty girls! I went to the gym this morning and had a good workout. Walked 15 minutes at 2.3 mph and then 15 minutes at 2.4. I disagreeigned goal is 30 minutes at 2.5 mph and then maintain that level, so I'm almost there I upped the difficulty on the stair stepper to level 6, and once again climbed 5 flights. Feel the burn!! Did the arm and leg Nautilus machines -- leg machines at 60 pounds and arm machines at 30 pounds. I still feel great.

You girls are doing great, and holding down the fort VERY well! I'm proud of you!
Colleen, thanks for asking for me. My life has been a bit topsy turvy lately, for an entire boatload of reasons. So I haven't exercised in addition to not posting. I'll try to post something within the next few days and bring you up to speed. And Colleen, I'm so sorry about your sweet Abby. I've been thru this, too, many times, over the years.

Adina, don't ever feel you have to apologize for not posting, although we will worry!! Life sometimes has a habit of taking over! I hope things ease up a bit for you.
As far as Abby, yes I am still adjusting. I have had all my pets cremated and am now getting quite a collection. Sad but true!

I did some cleaning, mopped the kitchen floor. Been really sob these last few days and the only thing I can attribute it to is taking the Zomig for the migraines. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be better. Not going to take it anymore and see if that is it. Did not notice it while taking the Imitrex. Who knows anymore LOL!!

Sounds like fun, Sue. I haven't been camping in 25 years, and I have to admit, I miss it. But, Florida is not a great state to camp in! Too many nasty creepy-crawlies...not to mention the heat and humidity.

Well, I guess nobody is exercising this week. I hope we do better next week! I worked out yesterday. Did 30 minutes on the TM at 2.4 mph. One of my arm machines was broken, but did the rest of the Nautilus stuff - 12 to 15 reps on each machine with 30 pounds for the upper body stuff and 60 pounds for the legs. I'm about ready to increase the weight on my legs, but these machines only go up by 10 pounds instead of 5 -- that's a big jump at one time!
I did the stair stepper on level 6/12 for 5 floors. Rested a minute and then did 4 more floors at level 7/12. It felt good ;D

I only made rehab once this week but did do the treadmill on Wednesday for 15 mins. Done a lot of walking out and about in the stores. Lot of cleaning also, washed the floors in the kitchen and bath plus scrubbed the top and front of the fridge in the laundry room so have kept moving! Did windex all the glass in the living room also. Today I kinda slacked off a bit but I was tired!
See ya all next week! Keep them bodies movin!! LOL

I have really been doing well in the exercise department. Yesterday I went grocery shopping, watered all our plants and went to my three grandson's soccer games. One was on the far end of an atheltic field, about the size of two football fields put together. Two of my grandsons had a game there and then back over to the other side all the way back again. I wasn't even huffing or puffing. My grandson who is 5 just started with soccer and he was called into the game. He saw me walking across the field and came running to hug me while everyone was yelling for him to get in the game. He looked back at them and then turned to me and finished running to give me a hug. Everyone was laughing but thought he was a doll. Today I went to garage sales with my daughter and SIL. I got home tonight and I did 50 situps on my health rider and 100 on my health walker. I had my oxygen on and I wasn't winded but my legs felt like jello so I thought I better get off. It feels good to be active and I hope I can keep it up. I'll never keep up with you guys but I have to start trying!

Good job Linda! Keep it up. The more you do, the more you'll be able to do. So, did the G-Kids win their games?

I didn't do the TM or exercises but have been doing a lot of getting up and down from sitting on floor. I am getting up much easier than I used to. Lots of lifting of the books. Other muscles that I don't normally use.
However, I am posting to help make myself keep my promise. If all is well tomorrow, I will start back on the TM. My sinus/allergy is really bad today and for Joe too. Not sure why.
I am okay with my not working out up to now because I have gotten a lot of movements in. Now time to return.
Linda, wish I could walk that far. We did the little league baseball and I really enjoyed it. Those were the days of the 'big red machine' in professional baseball games. Couldn't get into the soccer.
Merry, you are always doing a good job. Interesting some of the things that I read about your journey like the meds and such that you have posted.
Have a good holiday, what is left of it, for all of you.
