The gym is open. Come on in!! I went to rehab today and did my usual: Stretches, followed by the arm machine for 5 minutes, treadmill for 30 minutes at 1.9 mph, leg press: 3 sets of 6 at 125, 130 and 135 pounds, and sit/stand with the medicine ball: 3 sets of 5. Finish it off with 5 more minutes on the arm machine and cool down stretches.

OMG, I am huffin and puffin just reading what you did Merry. ;D I am coming back. I am, I am. We are having rain and I am having problems with my saturation. I made myself get on TM the other day and had to get off. Of all people, you brought 'Arizona Kate'. Why not New Jersey Jane or someone. I think the message is looking for me. I will try tomorrow. I understand we are having rain for about a week. Me and Humidity don't agree. Today didn't feel as bad as yesterday.

I sure feel down about not being able to get moving. Oh, well. I did 5 minutes on the TM at 1.1 but it took me 2 tries. I just stopped and rested after 2 minutes and then walked another 3. I don't remember being this bad before. Something has to give here. I just felt so bad after typing the above paragraph, that I went and got on TM again. Add another 3 minutes at 1.1. I could say that is a minute longer than my first 2 minutes the 1st session. Total is 8 minutes. Pretty pathetic. I have gained extra weight and just came off the Predisone and not been working out for months. Now this is like starting over.

LOL Mary.... I didn't even notice the AZ Kate til after I'd posted. Sorry Like they sang in the Sound of Music --- "Let's start at the very beginning...A very nice place to start..." After all, you have to start somewhere!! 8 Minutes is excellent since you really haven't been doing any workouts. It doesn't matter whether you do it all at once or break it up. At least you did it!

I went for a walk yesterday. First day in a week it hasn't rained so took advantage of it. Weather was nice and cool and air fresh. ahhhhh life is good.
Merry, I love your quote from Sound of Music. Pat

I am not thrilled but I got on. Tried to get the extra 3 minutes to equal yesterday but not breathing good enough. Joe keeps saying I need to remember when I first started that it took time. I used to walk 30 plus minutes. I am so discouraged. Oh, well, tomorrow is another day. TM 5 minutes @ 1.1

I haven't been around much due to packing for the move. But I did go to rehab Wednesday. It was my last day until we get moved. Then I will have to find a new doctor and a new rehab place. I hope there will be one nearby, cause we are moving to a very small town. It will probably be a long drive to the nearest center -- not sure how I will handle that. I could go to a regular gym, but they wouldn't have O2, and my portable doesn't go to a high enough liter-flow for exercise (plus it is pulse only). Our apartment is too small for my treadmill, so won't be able to do that, either. Any ideas?

I've been lazy and not doing much. When I was without a computer last week I did get on the TM at work and walked for 10 min each time. I've been bouncing a toddler on the end of my feet too so I'll count that too, lol.

Merry; Be careful and don't overdo yourself during your move. Sue, you are sure getting enough exercise. I didn't post that Thursday or Friday I tried to get on the TM and didn't last 60 seconds and was off. I was just sick about it. I must have been right in what I discovered last night because now, I AM BACK. I will explain in the COPD Section. Today, I Did It, I did it, I am Back!!!:TM 10 minutes @ 1.1 (My TM has a 1.5 automatic incline) "I am so happy"

Great news, Mary! I am getting ready to pack my computer, and just wanted to stop in quickly and say bye. Don't know how long it will be before I get my new service set up, but I'll be back!

Mary, way to go!! I'm glad that you figured out what was wrong with your breathing...better a low inhaler than getting sick, that's for sure! I'll be getting exercise today, babysitting grands, one being a very hefty 1 yr old! (glad that one can walk, I sure couldnt carry him far)

Mary, its the little things, eh? I know how you feel! I am going to the mall today so will get lots of walklin gin. I will be getting back on the treadmill and working with the weight. This sporadic thing I have been up to is not good!! I need to get back on schedule! I will do weights before I go today.
