Happy Monday. The gym is open, so come on in! Went to rehab and had a real good day. Did my stretches and arm machine to warm up, then walked 30 minutes at 1.8mph. The leg press went well. I did 6 reps each at 110, 115, 120 and 125 lbs. I should get back to where I was pretty quickly. The medicine ball was another story. My muscles were still sore from Friday, plus having just done the leg press, and I could not even do one squat with the 3K ball. I felt like a total fool. Finally went and got the 2K ball and did 3 sets of 5 -- but I didn't do them very well. I'm sure I looked like some sort of spaz!! I guess I know what I need to work on Did my cool down stretches and came home. So for the most part, it was good.

Wednesday - Yesterday I went grocery shopping and ran errands - lots of walking.
Today was rehab. I upped my speed on the TM to 1.9 mph and walked 30 minutes. Did the leg press - 2 sets of 6 @ 120 and 1 set at 125 pounds. Then did squats with the 2K medicine ball ( 3 sets of 5). I'm still not back to the 3K ball, but I'll get there.
It was a good day. Most of the people I was friends with have "graduated" from rehab, and it's all new people now....and they are all older men. It sure changes the atmosphere and the types of conversations. No where near as much fun! Hopefully, some more ladies will join us after Christmas.
We seem to have the same problem in THIS GYM. Where is everyone? I know we're all busy with the holidays, but exercise is important to keep your health good. So, let's get to it!!

Friday - Yesterday I did housework and laundry. Puff, puff.
Today was rehab. It went great. I feel like I'm back to my old self. Walked 30 minutes at 1.9 (just 1 more tenth of a mph and I'll be doing a mile.....I never would have believed it!) The leg press was real comfortable today, so will up my weights on Monday. The squats (sit/stand) are still a little difficult, but lots better. They really seem to bother my knees. Wierd thing is, I've lost 3 pounds, so I'm actually doing less than before I got sick. Go figure.

Hey Merry....... I worked last night, did the usual, plus stripped 6 beds, remade them. Then went to grocery store and bagged my own, so I guess that oughta count, lol. Yesterday, I did a bit of shoveling then the neighbor guy musta thought I was doing a pitiful job of it ( yup, lol) so he finished.

Sunday 21st. Merry...wow you're doing great. Sue, you just keep going like the energized bunny:) I went for a walk today. Drove to Albertson's and walk from there downtown and back. Stopped at Dollar Tree first, then kept chugging:) I got in 2.60 miles and burned 317 calories. I burned off my breakfast. I must tell you I felt wonderful the whole time. No sob and was keeping up a steady pace, not fast, not slow. I hope I continue to feel this well. Mind you, I know I am not cured, as I got a little sob in the shower yesterday. I can live with that:) Pat

Pat, I'm so glad you are continuing to do well with your breathing. There is nothing worse than being so SOB you can't function. I can't walk outside near as well as I do on the treadmill. I don't know if it is the air, the uneven ground or that I try to go too fast. Probably a combination of the three.
Sue - I still get a kick out of the thought of a COPDer shoveling snow!

I do it when it just a couple inches at a time so I dont overdo it. The drifts this morning were awful tho so I got out the new snowblower at work. Wouldnt you know it, I figured out how to start the darn thing and run it, it ran out of gas!! So I said the heck with it and put it away and gave up, lol...nope, didnt shovel either!
