Well here we are into the end of the first half of the year; and I realize I haven't accomplish the tasks I had planned. Oh well, there is always tomorrow.
My little service dog, Puff is almost completely blind due to type1 diabetes. It is heart breaking to see him run into walls and not be able to play. This morning his brother was trying to get him to play and Puff just could not engage. Remi would run up to him and bark, Puff would thingy his head to find Remi and when he would try to play, Remi would just step aside and Puff would stand there trying to figure out where he went. After a couple minutes Puff just went and laid down. He still wants to go with me and he does a good job at his tasks but being unable to see, I worried about him becoming traumatized by the noise and people approaching that he can not see. He is only 6 1/2 yrs old so all I can do at this time is love him like he love me. There is a laser procedure to help regain his sight but the cost is $4,000 per eye which I sure don't have. His insulin is $130. per month plus all the vet bills and prescription dog food. I am so thankful to be able to care for his needs so far. I guess it is good to focus on him and get out of my own head.
Sue, your dog is beautiful. I think a dog shows the closest thing to God's love. You can kick them, abuse them and they will still come to you and love you. They are such a great companion. You never did say how she gets along with your cat.
Deb, as I was reading the posts and looked at your picture, I realized what a beautiful smile you have. I hope you are doing well.
Cheryl, have you been able to see the kids yet? I bet Addy is turning into a real little lady. I hope you and Dave are healthy and dodging all the crud floating around.
We have lost a few of our members due to COPD and related health issues; I would appreciate if all our remaining COPD family and friends would check in. You are loved and missed. Funny how a bond can be built without ever meeting. I would really like to hear from the spouses of of the deceased also. We are in this journey together.
I send love and prayers for all, Ken
