I need to get an exterminator. Have not needed one in years. They will do the outside for sure.
I would like them to do at least the family room, kitchen and dining room. Crickets have started coming in and I think I know where. Am going to caulk an area and hope to stop them. That happened many years ago and we had to caulk places. Now I wish I had a couple of those cats. That is probably why the crickets are out. The cats used to lay in this corner like they were looking for bugs to come out. I had no clue until yesterday. I am very distraught over this as I don't like any bugs. I was swatting them until too many. I know that was the spot. I was desating every time I swatted them.
Hopefully the caulking and the outside will help once we kill off the ones that got in. grrrrr. Ugh!
I don't remember odor from when they used to do it but that has been many years ago. Is this something that will bother me. I would stay at the other end of the house most of the day. Anyone know about the spray because I don’t even remember reading about it.
I thought I posted this earlier but guess not.

Mary I had to have my house sprayed for little ants last spring. I told them ahead of time that I had COPD and could not stand anything very smelly. They have something new now, absolutely no smell and I didn't have to leave the room. The spray though, was put into the walls not just sprayed around.

Mary, I use Terminex and they treat every 3 months. If you find any bugs in the house after treatment they come back and reapply insecticide. They only treat the outside and when the bugs grawl over the treated ground it kills them. I never have sprayed in the house and have good results. They also treat against termites and if termites ever do any damage after treatment they pay for repairs. Good luck

Mary - the stuff they use now never bothered me -- even the inside spray. No odor at all.

Mary I agree with what everyone has said....my son is a exterminator and the stuff they use now is safe to be around and pretty much odorless.....I have terrible trouble with odors, hairspray, perfume, soaps even lotions and this doesn't bother me at all......also, if the caulking you need done is a little area they should throw that in for you....at least my son would, but he is a great guy

Thanks everyone. The bad news is the guy cannot come Friday and now will be Monday. My other son is going to come tomorrow or Saturday and spray something inside that he will get at Home Depot. We have not had cricket problems in over 20 years. I think this is a result of a wall that had to be replaced due to a leak. I don't remember how many years ago but I suspect it is from the baseboard area.
They creep me out. I have avoided my living area a lot this week. Thanks, I am reassured.

I could never have them spray in the house because Amy was allergic to the stuff...can't remember the name but its made from chrysanthemums I think. I just had them do outside and it worked pretty good keeping the bugs out. Mice are a whole other story,....still haven't won that battle and we treat for them all the time and they still come around...that's what we get for living here~~~

My husband gets one of the sprays that keeps bugs from getting into the house and since he started using it we haven't had very many bugs. I use to get huge ants and little tiny ants but haven't had any lately. I do have a couple of pesky flies. This is the first year we have had them. Just a couple but enough to drive me nuts. I swear they know when you go get a fly swatter. I had one that was driving me nuts and I was trying to take nap. As soon as I would start to nod off he would land on my nose or hand. I finally got him and my husband couldn't get over how hard I hit the thing. He laughed about it!
