hi all.
they gave us a hand out today on red wine,stated the chemical in the wine resveratrol,has been shown to drastically reduce inflammation in the lungs of people with copd. has anyone read anything about this etc. i know nothing about wine. i don't think i have drank any wine since the 60's. and i think that was ripple. lol.

I have chronic inflammation in my lungs. I wish I drank cause I would sure try that theory. I am willing to do anything to make it go away. Thanks for the tip.

Penny! This is just TOO easy ... it "ripples" into the lungs!
More to the point - the research indicated was about a fractional compound sometimes found in some red wines .. NOT about the wine itself. Incidentally, I believe the compound is a type of vitamin A ... that compound was well researched in mice and seemed hopeful, was trialed with people and was NOT found to be helpful.
Personally, I found ripple to rather unhelpful in past years ... hangovers from hell!

I beieve they said you would have to drink gallons of it a day to get the same amount they have been testing on mice.
Penny, the same way everything gets in the lung probably thru the blood stream like Pred and other meds. The only med that go directly to any part of the body are inhalers. Even insulin isn't injected into the pancreas. BP meds don't go into the heart.
