I'll try it Colleen, it is crazy that down below it shows I signed in when on my end it leaves me as guest. Oh well, at least I can get here either way
Im making a big pot of stuffed pepper soup and I got carried away, lol.
hope those under the weather get to feeling better soon!
It is really cold outside today. We went and picked up some groceries for ourselves and my mom. Dropped hers off and had a cup of tea with her, then came home and unloaded ours. We stopped on the way and picked up some jumbo apple fritters for a treat. It's all I can do just to eat a whole one. Sure didn't need any lunch after that.
Ken - I am so pleased to hear that you're feeling better. Stay away from the penicillin. lol
Virginia - Sorry to hear you have a bad headache. Do you take anything special for bad ones?
Colleen - We had that wind last night. It must have moved your way. I love the sound of it.

Good morning folks. Our famliy all left this morning except for my mother. She isn't going home till the weather warms up for the summer. Cheryl, I am allergic to penicillin. It is weird, I used it for years and all of a sudden I developed allergies to it. It stopped my heart and I needed IV adrenalin which was a real trip. My dad was allergic and my daughter is allergic to it so they won't even try it on my g-son. I am feeling much better yesterday and today, I thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. Blessings and better breathing to ALL and Happy New Year, Ken
I have no idea Sue, but it looks like you were signed in this morning at 10:53 am. Maybe try clearing the cache and cookies out and see if that helps. Good luck! It is a pain when things are not working like they should and I am no computer wiz lol, maybe someone will have an idea??
May your troubles be less, May your blessings be more, May nothing but happiness come through your door Don't take your organs to Heaven; Heaven knows we need them here !
Colleen, I still cant sign in, I tried it on the computer at work also and it was still a no go.........Now what, any ideas I hope the winds die down for you so you can get out. It is cold here, I need to get some groceries, the cat is out of food too.
So other than getting groceries, no plans for today except a nap. Hope to see the new baby soon, maybe the weather will cooperate so that can happen.
Waving to all stopping in today, hope you all have a great day!
Good Morning!! Coffee & tea are ready. It is so windy out that it sounds like the house will blow away at any time LOL!! Watching to see if we get a nor'easter on Friday but we may end up with rain. I want to go shopping tomorrow so I hope its a little better than today or I will not be going anywhere!
Virginia, glad your appt. went well. Hope your feeling better also.
Merry, glad things are moving along with the house. I imagine its been hard for you not being able to do what you want. Are you almost all healed? Hope you don't have any lingering pain.
Well, going to make sauce and meatballs today, good day for it so I better get moving.

Virginia - so glad your doctor visit went well. I hope your vision continues to improve. I am seeing amazingly well after my second cataract surgery. Doc says I am at 20/50 (that was Wednesday) and it has improved significantly since then. I would have no trouble driving now - wouldn't hesitate. It is a very free feeling not to have to fear breaking or losing my glasses and being stranded somewhere (isn't it funny the things we worry about), but I've worn glasses since I was 6 -- 51 years -- and it is so-o-o-o different.
Nephew has finished the front porch and we ordered the supplies for the carport today. A few more weeks and we'll be finished. I will post pics. I promise.
We have been in a cold spell, and it is supposed to go down to 27 tonight. Br-r-r-r-r-r!! Better bundle up. (We are such total wusses )
Son in Michigan whose house was foreclosed on got a nice Christmas gift - a $4.00/hr raise! Boy will that help.

Sure is quiet in here, I hope all are well.
Pat, congratulations on your Son's job. That is such wonderful news!
Virginia, you are very brave about the eyes. I pray these shots work for you. By the way, how is your neice doing?
Ken, wish there was some way we could help make you feel a bit better. Sounds like you really had a house full. Is everyone gone now? I bet Joy is beat.
Sue, we swear by the baby swaddlers. They are great and come in so many styles and sizes. When Remy grew out of his swadlers they moved him into these organicsleep sacks that have a lot of the same smae effect of the swadlers. He loves to sleep in them.
I ended up getting into an urgent medical appt. the day before Chistmas Eve. Turns out that I am not moving the air in my lungs hardly at all. Dah....I could have told them that. So i am on antis and prednisone and working hard to get into this specialist pulmonologist that I really want to see. Hopefully that will happen soon.
All of our company has gone home and I am beat. We have some friends coming for New Years Eve and Day and then we can really relax.

Pat, That is good news about your son's new job. Congratulations.Sue - Hope your lip gets better soon.
Ken - I'm so sorry that you're having a hard time. I wish there was something I could do to help. Are you allergic to penicillin? Is that why it would stop your heart? I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Good morning and blessings to the forum family. It was a great time here with 29 peoplw for Christmas eve. 5 generations on both sides of our families. We have had 20 por the past week and everyone goes home tomorrow except my mom. Thank God for Joy, she did so much cooking and cleaning and entertaining. When I wasn't feeling good I would go into the bedroom and lay down, Joy kept working. All the extended guests are from my side of the family and Joy just keeps everything moving along. She has been truly fantastic. I have had a bad headache constantly for the past 3 to 4 months and it has kept me locked away in my daark room. I had a CT scan on the sinus cavity last week to see if there might be a tumor. They have found a Hemangioma on my spinne and three on my liver like the one taken off mmy brain last year. These are benign but can cause problems as they grow or bleed. My breathing has been good through the holiday and if I can get a handle on the allergies I should be doing good. Cheryl, thankfully you are able to use penicillin. It is the best all around anti-biotic but it stops my heart. My mom is going through the same thing with a tooth. She did the penicillin and pain meds and will have three root canals the end of January. She iws 86 years old and says, " I never had trouble with my teeth and don't knoiw why I would have trouble now". WELL!! Virginia, I am going through problems with the eye I had surgery on also. It is the pits and I need to call the eye clinic today. Good luck dear, you are in our prayers. Sue, I hope you get yiour car troubles fixed. We are such a mobile society, the car is a necessity. I am glad you got the car to work and didn't break down on the highway. We send our love and blessings tp ALL our Forum Family and pray for a better New Year, Ken and Joy

Cheryl, glad you are about done on the penicillin too.
Linda, I hope you are feeling better today, how did Mary like the swaddler? My new grandson likes his apparently and his mom and other grandma say it works well.
There is a very pretty pic of Holly posted on FB.
I am now sporting a fat lip. Ashlyn jumped up as I bent down and her head collided with my mouth. She freaked when she saw the blood and wouldnt come near me. She knows she did it and feels bad. She doesnt understand accident too well I think.

Toby, I am glad you are feeling better. This disease is crazy. It's hard to tell if you are sick with something, a false alarm or just what. I had pain i my lungs on deep inhalation and thought it might be heartburn. So I took one x=tra script zantac yesterday and it's better today after quite a bit of belching. Awwwww so lady like. Morning friends. It's been close to freezing here everynight. Gets mighty cold for this Calif girl I've been coughing evenings and mornings. I'm thinking my asthma is being affected. You just can't win!!!!My Peak Flow Meter registered 150 and that is in my danger zone, so guess it's time for a neb treatment
I just hung two small hummingbird feeders out. I hooked them on the rails of a large patio umbrella. I hope the little hummers detect them
Quiet in here so far. I expect everyone is still putting left overs away and throwing gift wrapping paper away
Sue, I should go out and take advantage of some sales. Maybe Khols or Stein Mart...Ross might be good as well as TJ Max...alot of stores to choose from. Then there's always the Dress Barn That's what I love about where I live. Everything is close by...
Have a wonderful day and enjoy some left overs...Hugs to all...Pat

Morning, Rise and Shine! Coffee, tea, leftovers are on.
Cheryl, you gonna refreeze turkey? My son was suppose to come over and get leftovers and he never did. I wouldnt want to be around the kids either if they are sick. Your neice was kind to give you a heads up.
Hi Dianne, great to see you!
Debbie, dont you just love to have everyone together like that!
Toni, I hope they stay out of the rain storms too. I like after holiday sales if I can get there early enough to beat the rush. I truly hate standing in lines.
Linda, Jo, Betty, others, I hope you guys are ok, just busy celebrating.
Hubby is gonna go look at car today (I hope). From what I've read online, I still think it is fuel filter being dirty, but time will tell. I think whatever it is, it is a simple reason as it hasnt been acting up before. From past experience, look at the easy stuff first.
Waving to all stopping in today, may you have a great day!

It sounds like everyone had a good Christmas, and some are still celebrating. It's so wonderful to have the family around. We're expecting DH's sister and her husband to be here any day. They left Missouri in their RV today and I'm sure are heading to where there is no snow.
It was a new day for us - for the first time we did after Christmas shopping. DH went and bought a new tree for next year, as we'll have room for a bigger one in our new house. He kindof got carried away and bought a bunch of ornaments, wrapping paper, boxes, bows, etc. We'll be ready for next year!
I also made an exchange of a gift today, which is something I've never done. Usually we stay home away from traffic and crowds.
Hope your car decides to run again, Sue. It's not the time of year to get stranded, is it.
A 30 pound turkey for 5 people? Wow, Cheryl, what great leftovers. We think that's the best part. None for us, this year, DH grilled some shish ka bob, or however you spell it. It was wonderful.
Off to loaf in front of the TV. Have a wonderful night, everyone

Hello everyone!! I had a great Christmas with my kids and grands. We met at my oldest son's home since it was the biggest place. We chose to have supper instead of dinner so the little kids could enjoy playing with their new toys. It isn't often I can get my kids in the same place at the same time.
Virginia...thanks for posting the update on Kath
Hope you all had a good Christmas! Ya'll are always in my thoughts and prayers!!!
Re: Saturday 12/26 « Result #29 on Dec 26, 2009, 3:57pm »
Good Afternoon Everyone!
I do hope everyone had a good christmas. We had a quiet one. My niece called me christmas morning to tell me that 2 of her children had a cold with green gunk coming out of their eyes. Another one had a fever and chills and they were at that time over at her MIL's home. She said she'd leave it up to me whether they should still come for christmas dinner. Gee - guess what I said? lol
Anyways, we ended up with a 30 lb. turkey to feed 5 people. lol -- I have a ton of turkey left over. I sent my mom home with lots of meat. My daughter wasn't here. It was her turn to have her In-laws at her home.
I do admit though, that I did enjoy a quiet christmas dinner for a change. We're usually over-run with people here.
It started raining last night and it's still raining this evening. At least you don't have to shovel rain. Today is our boxing day at the stores. Big bargains, with big crowds to go with them. We didn't go near the stores today.
My daughter's fridge is going, so her and her husband went out and bought a new fridge today. She said they saved $500.00 by buying it today.
I've been on penecillin for a bad tooth that will be pulled in the new year. I've been having side effects from it, so am thankful that tomorrow is the last day to take it.
Enough rambling from me. I really hope that everyone's christmas went well............xoxox

Morning, More tea sounds good, thanks Colleen. It is quiet here, it is snowing still... watch out those east of me....Jiana and crew had a bad ride home last night but did make it safely. Jiana wanted to leave early but Tom started doing a tattoo on my neice and it took awhile. My car is stuck at work, I'm hoping it is something simple like a dirty fuel filter. It was sputtering on the way to work til it caught up with itself (dont know how else to discribe it). Yesterday, it would turn over but not catch, acts like it is starving for gas. Always something isnt it lol. BBL, hope you had a good holiday and a great day!

Have someone check your vitamin D level. You could also take niacian, it is supposed to help. I do however believe that pred can make you lose your hair. If they can cause your bones to break down then they could sure cause some of your hair to fall out.
Good luck. Please tell us if you find out something.

Colleen and everyone. I have asked my 3 different doc's about it. My primary doc says its caused by my kidney's, my kidney doc says it's caused by prednisone (haha) and my pulmo says it might be caused by the pred, but mentioned if I lost my hair, I'd be in good company...lol Funny guy:) I'm just trying to narrow down possibilities. Colleen, we had a 1/4 in of ice, but it wasnt too slick believe it or not, tho it was scary driving under trees on the way to work those branches were hanging real low from the weight of the ice.
My neice made it safely tho it was scary she said. I just cant wait to see her and my kids tomorrow...tony wants to be here, but no way. He is where he should be.

Pat, I remember reading somewhere it is a possible side effect of prednisone. I am having problems with my hair falling out but I'm not on Prednisone. Holly sent me samples of a product she uses. It is Rene Furterer shampoo, Forticea. They also make a vitamin that is excellent. Good luck! I'm glad to see you on. I love hearing about the fun things you do.

Does anyone lose their hair when they've been on a large dose of Prednisone? On two occasions in late summer of this year, my pulmo doc put me on 40mgs of pred. First time he didn't put me on a taper, second time he did...grrrrr Anyway, my hair starts coming out and it gets quite thin. Awwww just lovely..When the pred wears off it starts to grow back..

I had to stop in and wish you all a Happy Holiday once more. I am enjoying my break. I won’t go on about a lot of the details. I had a really good day last Monday. Almost forgot I couldn’t breath. Was just one of those rare days I get about once a year. The next day though, I was down half of it from doing more than normal the day before. It is good.
Mix of good and bad here. Have seen signs of some good things. On the other hand granddaughter has been to ER twice and both times put on a different type of cast on her hand. Think just sprained and some other problem with a bone but not a heavy cast. Not yet anyway. She is not following instructions well. My Mom had laser surgery yesterday. Eye pressure climbed to 39 and that is real bad. Down to 13 now. Another long story. She is so so for now.
I think I will stay on break and when I get my routine together after everything settles, then I will find a way of posting. I just need to spend less time on the Internet. I can do that and still post. I get easily side-tracked. Also, I talk too much.(write too much).
I have posted a message in the General Secton and hope you will take a look at it. http://tinyurl.com/yzzhxum
Ken, I was late with my Anniversary greetings. Hope the dinner was nice.
Toni, Sorry about the house closing. One thing I know, is to never count on anything, until it is done. Look forward to hearing all about the house after you do move in.
Sue, do be careful with all the snow. I am somewhat concerned as we have family members moving around on the highways and in the air.
Cheryl, I think I read before that you were pretty well on track for the holidays. Hope so. You didn’t say much today. I need to learn to do that.
Virginia, you also are of few words today.
I hope all of you will be very careful if traveling or on the roads at all. I hope all your families are also okay. If they are late, no big deal, just postpone part of it. It is the visiting that is most important.

Christmas Greetings « Result #73 on Dec 23, 2009, 11:00pm »
To everyone on this board, whether occasional or everyday poster:
I want to take this holiday time to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Holiday. I am hoping that the New Year will be a really good one for all. Many of us had some difficult times this past year.
May God Bless and Watch Over all of you. I am thankful that I have been blessed with good friends. We share our lives with one another, the good times and the bad. It is not always easy but it sure helps to have friends that can understand.
I hope we can get off to a good start when 2010 rolls in. Enjoy the rest of the holiday season and be very careful, breath easy and stay well.

Hey everyone........ Took Amy to finish up her shopping after work, by the time we got home I was beyond tired and now cant fall asleep, but that wont be the first time that happened. Weather here really stinks, it is sleeting right now. Airports around here have been experiencing delays since this morning, makes me wonder about my neice flying in tonight. The way the weather is shaping up we may delay our family Christmas til Saturday but I dont mind. Oh, and when I am more awake, I'll post baby pics, I have one on my FB wall.
toni, Im sorry about the house closing, Ill keep my fingers crossed that Monday is the day!
In case I miss someone away from home, I'll wish you a very Merry Christmas now!
